Bush Animals Workshop Sunday 10th November 10 - 3.30
Hand-build with wool and hay to create a colourful, sculptural animal. The simplicity of wrapping wool around hay requires no tools and great results can be achieved with just a sense of fun and imagination.
In this workshop you will be guided in making two bush animals. Hay becomes malleable when it is tightly wrapped and the best way to learn is through experience. Initially you will learn the basic techniques by making a small kangaroo. Followed by the opportunity to develop your shaping and wrapping skills as you create an animal of your choice. Materials are provided however participants are welcome to bring any favourite wools for finishing. I acknowledge my teacher, aboriginal basket weaver Bronwyn Razem for giving me permission to pass these skills on.
