Stitched Basket Workshop Sat 16th October 10.30am to 3pm

Choose from a variety of plant fibres to form the ‘core’ of the basket, which is then ‘coiled and stitched’ together with hemp twine. Step by step guidance will be offered in preparing the materials, starting, shaping and finishing your basket. Throughout the session, tips will be included on suitable plant fibres for weaving; sourcing, storing and preparing them as well as discussion on ancient and contemporary basket weaving practices.
