Garlic Basket Workshop Saturday 5th June 1 - 4pm
This method of basket weaving is known as 'Twining'.
The garlic basket is made by twining a pair of plant fibres around a frame of cordyline leaves with a selection of natural plant fibres to use as twining materials. A skill once learnt can be adapted to many shapes and sizes of basket. In this workshop, you will learn how to *Prepare your plant fbres *Make the frame *Twine around the frame *Form the opening *Finish your basket *Information on suitable plants to use and how to gather and prepare them. Beginners to basket weaving will find it of benefit to attend the Twined Basket workshop to learn the twining skills required for this workshop. Book for both workshops to receive a discount.
