My journey in making animals started with a 'bush toy' workshop with indigenous weaver Aunty Bronwyn Razem, an artform inspired by indigenous weavers in the central desert, the Tjanpi Weavers  This method of transforming readily available materials, straw and wool, into a toy is used to connect to the environment, educate and to illustrate a story. My own technique has developed from the Bush Toys method to the use of a wire frame used to incorporate more detail and to provide flexibilty. The animals I choose to make are Australian species, often those which are on their way to being endangered.
